Drawing inspiration from the anatomy of frogs with throats that can expand, Second Breath creates an environment that explores extensions of the singer’s anatomy. Central to the piece is a transformative wearable instrument, which acts as an extension of the performer’s lung. This device shapes around the chest, capturing breath and transforming it into a second resonating chamber for sound and feedback. In this shared moment of vulnerability and sometimes full darkness, Second Breath becomes a meditation on the fragility and power of the human voice. It can be performed as a olo piece, but also  together with a vocal ensemble, where all singers wear their own Second Breath Instrument.
