Skin Hunger
A sensory dance performance rooted in research and accessibility since its inception. The work invites all audiences, with special attention to blind users, into a tender world beyond sight.
Blending dance, poetry, and sound, it traces the absence of touch and the echoes of skin memory. We started asking ourselves what would a dance theater look like when the whole world would not have eyes. Would the stage be the way it is now? In this research we realized that without vision silence becomes backstage, scent becomes costume that shapes the performers identity, sound becomes movement, warmth becomes distance, and language triggers imagination. What happens when touch is longed for, imagined, or remembered? Skin Hunger invites audiences to listen with their bodies, feel with their ears, and sense the presence of others through absence.
